HUNT CLUB'S MEETING
The annual race meeting of the Otago Hunt Club always a popular fixture with the sporting public, will be held on Saturday next. Including as it does a hurdle race, a- steeplechase, two trotting events, and four flat events, the card is varied and attractive, and the public seems assured of really first-class sport. The first race is rimed to start at 12 noon, and an excellent train service lias been arranged to convey patrons to the course. Two of the events will be enhanced in value and interest by Ihe addition of trophies. In the Hunt Club Steeplechase, Messrs R. Powley and Co. Ltd. have donated a trophy, and Mr A. Messent lias donated a cup for the Wingatui Trotting Handicap. Afternoon tea and luncheon will be available and there will also be licensed booths. The inside, enclosure only will be used for the meeting The express (reins to and from Invercargill will slop at Wingatui. As there are only 35-minufe intervals between races, the public are advised to make their investments early. Members of H.M. Force? iu uniform will be admitted free.
