SIMPLIFIED CLOTHING
NO DRASTIC CHANGES (F.a.) Wellington, August 25. The Minister of Supply, Hon. i). (J. Sullivan, said to-day that there wduld be nothing drastic in the simplified do tiling scheme which is being prepared for war-time purposes,'and there was no need for rush buying. The public would not be called upon to fiiake sacrifices that would not yield a corresponding benefit to the community as a whole
It appeared, the Minister added, that the maximum saving could be effected with simplification without unduly interfering with individual design, taste, and 'personal preference. Waistcoats would not bo eliminated, because such a course would lead to a demand for woollen pullovers. While the new specifications might be introduced overnight, there would bo supplies of ready-made clothing available for some time to come.
