COMPETITIONS FESTIVAL

Arrangements have been completed for the forty-first annual festival of the Dunedin Competitions Society, which will commence on Wednesday next in His Majesty’s Theatre, the Concert Chamber) and Victoria Hall. The official opening will be held at 7.30 p.m., and the mayor (Mr A. H. Allen) will preside. Attractive programmes have been arranged for each evening during the festival, including popular ballets, 15-minute plays, choral items, and children’s choruses, as well as vocal, instrumental, and elocutionary numbers. The day sessions will also provide interesting performances, and dancing and children’s action songs are among the classes to be judged. The box plan is at Begg’s. Season tickets and official programmes may be obtained there and also from the secretary, Mr E. S. Wilson.
