SCOTTISH CONCERT
PATRIOTIC EFFORT A national concert arranged by the Dunedin Centre of the Pipers and Dancers’ 'Association, with the support of kindred Scottish societies, was held in the Concert Chamber last night. The Dunedin Highland Pipe Band opened the proceedings and gave several items. Miss Norma Marshall presented an Irish reel with Misses Shirley Smith, Waveney Mussea, Daphne Baxter, and Pat Raid, while a reel of Tulloch was danced by Miss Pat Atkinson, with Misses Mavis Beissel, Irene Bevin, Leola Robertson, and Jessie Brown. Others who contributed to the programme were Mr George Butler, Miss Grace Russell, Mr Jamie Paterson, Miss Newey, Mr Leslie Dunbar, Miss Sylvia Lawrence, Miss Jean MoLay, Mr Peter Dawson, Miss Nancy Pindor, Mr Bruce Wood, and Mrs S. M. Tohill. The accompanist was Miss Muriel Caddie. The concert was arranged in aid of the local bodies’ section of the All People’s Queen Carnival Committee.
