OTAGO ASSOCIATION The monthly mooting of tbo committed of the Otago Early Settlors’ Association was held yesterday afternoon, when there were present Messrs VV. J. Strong' (president), H. Baron, P. H. Campbell, W. R. Brugh, W. H. Kerens, E. C. Hazlett, and E. Webster. . • The President reported that the old-time dance held on October 2 was again a successful one and that a number of the members of the Air Force were present. Tho following gifts were received and votes of thanks were passed to the donors: —Mr A. H. Fisher, Dunedin, photograph of his late mother, Mrs R. Fisher, arrived Otago 1860’s; Miss D. Marchbanks, Wellington, portraits of her late parents, Mr and Mrs D. Marchbanks, Dunedin, Alpine, 1859; Miss J. Coats, Dunedin, framed portraits of her late parents, Mr and Mrs William Coats, Dunedin, Sir William Eyre, 1863; Mrs John Simc (late Awatea, Owaka), photographs of herself and late husband, Mr Sinie, Silistria, 1862; Mrs C. Taylor, Tomahawk, photograph of her parents, Mr aud Mrs William Young—Mr Young, Robert Henderson, 1861, Mrs Young arrived 1860; Hon. W- Dowuie Stewart, booklet, ‘ Early Adventures in Otago,’ by Edmund Smith, edited by himself; Mrs P. H M'Adam, Eiffelton, Ashburton, framed portraits of her late parents, Mr and Mrs James P. Ayson, Kaihiku—father Royal Albert, 1853, mother (nee Robson), Columbus, 1851. The following deaths of early settlers were recorded during the mouth: —Mrs Jessie Parker (nee Waugh), Stirling, s.s. Gothenburg, 1865 (82 years) ; Hugh Nelson, Dunedin (late Balclutha and Waikaia), 81; Hamilla Mitchell, 1864; Miss Ann Tarlton, South Africa (late Invercargill), 92, Bosworth, 1857; Mrs Mary Heckler (nee Parquhar), Warepa (77), arrived Otago 1864; Mrs Caroline Hall (nee Harris), Mornington (85), arrived Otago 1863; William T. Hildreth, Wellington (82), s.s. Aldinga, 1861. The following descendants were enrolled during tho month: —Miss M, Patrick, Dunedin, parents, Stormcloud, 1860. George Scott, Lowburn Ferry; parents arrived 1860. Mrs Hugh Blaikie (nee Kempthorne), Clinton; parents arrived 1862.
