WAIPAWA SEAT
ELECTION LIKELY [Per United Press Association.] NAPIER, October 8. The indications are that an election will be necessary to fill the Waipawa vacancy. The Labour Party has decided that if the Nationalists nominate Sergeant J. D. Ormond a Labour soldier will be nominated against him ; and if a resident of New Zealand stands as a Nationalist Labour will nominate a civilian as opponent. While this is not officially announced, it is understood to be a true statement of the position.
