CONGRATULATIONS FROM DUNEDIN

Congratulations to Air Chief Marshal Sir Cyril Newall on his appointment as Governor-General of New Zealand have, on behalf of the citizens of Dunedin, been cabled by the mayor (Mr A. H. Allen). The message assured Sir Cyril of a very warm welcome to Dunedin when he should pay a visit here. The cablegram, which was despatched care of the High Commissioner for Now Zealand, reads:—

On behalf of the citizens of Dunedin. 1 desire to tender their

sincere congratulations on your appointment to the high office of

Governor-General and to assure you of a warm welcome to this portion of the Dominion.
