OBITUARY
SIR ROBERT HADFIELD Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, October 1. (Received October 2, at 10.30 a.m.) The death has occurred of Sir Robert Hadfield, aged 82 years. Sir Robert was managing director of Hadfields Ltd., a Sheffield company, employing 7,(®0 workmen, and was one of Britain’s loading industrialists. He was the inventor of manganese steel, silicon steel, and many other special alloy steels and metallurgical improvements, and received many British and foreign distinctions for his services to the metal industries.
