TYPHOON IN FORMOSA
FIFTY PEOPLE KILLED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright TOKIO, October 1. (Received October 2, at 10 a.m.) The Domei Agency correspondent at Tainan says the edge of a typhoon which struck the southern tip of Formosa yesterday afternoon killed 50 persons, destroyed 5,000 bouse*, and severely damaged crops.
