LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

The 13th annual meeting of the Otago Provincial Committee of the League of Mothers was presided over by Mrs E. N. Merrington, who cordially welcomed, Mrs S. O. English, the Dominion president of the league. Mrs English, who was presented with a posy by Airs H. L. Paterson, brought greetings from the Dominion Executive, the Auckland Provincial Committee, and the Ponsonby branch, of which she is president Mrs Merrington also welcomed all new branch officers, also Mrs Ilaslemoro, a representative front Riverton. Airs Aslin appealed for assistance for the Y.AI.C.A. ladies’ auxiliary in catering for men from the camps at Wingatui and Forbury Park, and Airs Sharp was appointed to represent the league in tins work. After the report and balance sheet had been adopted the election of officers resulted;—President, Mrs G. H. Seddon ; vice-presidents—Mesdames Merrington, Al'Gregor, Park, Aslin, Stuckey, Coatsworth, Secular, Paterson, and Edwards; secretary, Airs W. L Dodd; magazine secretary and treasurer, Mrs Alagnus Johnson; assistant secretary and reporter. Airs P. H. Jones; treasurer, Mrs Dunne; supply secretary, Airs Al'lver. Sprays of spring flowers were presented to Alesdames Dodd. Johnson, Seddon, and Jones by Airs Alacfarlane. On vacating the chair, Airs Aferririgton was presented with a posy by Airs Seddon, and Airs English voiced the appreciation and thanks of the Dominion Executive. The executive entertained Airs English and the country delegates at luncheon in the Women’s Club.
