FIFTY-FIVE YEARS MARRIED
MR AND MRS GEORGE WIX As it is not given to in any married people to have the unique distinction of having lived together for the lengthy period of 55 years, such an occasion is worthy of more than passing notice, and the many relatives and friends of Mr and Mrs George AVix will be glad to know that on Saturday next, September 28, they will have attained this rare and happy occasion. The worthy couple are both hale and hearty, and although they have passed through the vicissitudes of an'active and strenuous life they have come to this joyful occasion in full possession of all their mental and physical powers, and enjoy as fully as possible the various circumstances of an active life. Mr and Mrs Wix are well known in the south end of Dunedin, having spent practically all their married life in this district. They have been long and actively associated with the work of the South Dunedin Baptist Church since its beginning. The many relatives and friends gladly join in hearty congratulations and best wishes to the happy couple, and express the hope that they may be spared to one another for many more years. The 21 grandchildren send special greetings' to their grandparents. Mr and Mrs AVix were married at the Port Chalmers Presbyterian Church by the Rev. J. (Riley on September 28, 1885.
