SMASH AND GRAB

JEWELLERY ROBBERY [Per United Press Association.] GREYMOUTH, September 27. Watches and rings valued at £250 to £3OO were stolen in a smash-and-grab raid on the jeweller’s' store of John Tennent, at Mawhore Quay, early this morning. The plate glass show window was smashed sufficiently to allow of the insertion of an arm to reach trays containing expensive wristlet watches and signet rings. Cheaper articles of jeTvcllery in the window were not touched.
