ARITHMETIC WITHOUT TEARS
A Swedish calculating machine, described by experts as a sensational development in its field, has been placed on the market. It performs the calculations largely by itself, and does so with amazing rapidity. Its most novel feature is the automatic division arrangement. Division has always been regarded as one of the most difficult forms of machine calculation, but with this new device it is simple. The operator has only to set up the dividend and divisor and press a button —and the machine does the rest. Another feature is that the new machine can actually be operated the whole time with one hand, thus enabling the operator to make notes continuously with the right hand at the same time as the left hand sets up the figures, and the machine works.— Swedish International Press Bureau.
