Alcalay’s, one of Bucharest’s largest book shops, was closed because a sheet of paper placed in a typewriter displayed in the window carried the following sentence“ I can’t bear Hitler. He is a pig.” It had been written by an assistant during a demonstration to a prospective buyer, and after it had been m the window a while it drew a considerable crowd, which attracted 1 the police. The proprietor was taken to the police station and his store was closed. The assistant was arrested and charged when the act had been traced to him. —‘ Daily Sketch.’
