THREE HUNDRED MISSING
AMERICAN MUNITION PLANT DISASTER DAMAGE ASSESSED AT 1.000,000 DOLLARS MONTREAL, September 13. (Received September 14, at 9.10 a.m.) Three hundred are known to have been injured in the explosion in the Hercules powder plant at Kenvil. Many are missing. The damage is estimated at 1,000,000d01. I President Roosevelt requested the Red Cross to assist. The injured include children at a school a mile distant; Aeroplanes flew to and' fro, dropping fire-fighting chemicals. Rescuers dashed in and out of the flames, doing their best to carry out .those who could be saved and leaving the obviously dead. MEAT AND GRAIN ARGENTINA AND BRITAIN DISCUSSING AGREEMENT BUENOS AIRES, September 12. It is officially stated that the Argentine and British Governments are studying an agreement by which the Argentine will cede to Britain a credit of between £30,000,000 and £40,000,U0 for the purchase of meats and grains. British-owned railroads , and packing houses in the Argentine would be the security.
