VALLEY SCHOOL COMMITTEE

The monthly meeting of the Northeast Yalley School Committee, held on Alondav night, was presided over by Air J. J. 'Paul. The head master reported that roll numbers were: Valley 406, and Opoho 85. Air ill. R. Al’Neil had commenced duties as sixth assistant, and Airs Baxter as supernumerary. The Centennial Arbor Day planting was carried out in Longworth street and at Opoho. Altogether in the last three rears 74 trees and shrubs have been planted in the Valley grounds and 195 at Opoho. It was decided to purchase an electric sewing machine for use by senior girls. In connection with the new methods of drill teaching, the head master was authorised to procure any material required. Atiss Robin forwarded her resignation or. account- of her marriage, and the committee extended best wishes lor her future happiness. Messrs Smith and Elliott were appointed a visiting committee for October 6.
