The Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club flew the first of two Christchurch races on Saturday. The stationroaster liberated 162 birds from 19 lofts at 9.34 ■a.m. in overcast weather with an east wind, and the winning bird completed the distance of 200 miles in 4h llmin at an average velocity of 1,420yd$ per minute.
