KNOCKS OUT PASTOR HEAVY-WEIGHT BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP DETROIT, September 20. Joe Louis knocked out Bob Pastor in the eleventh round of a world championehip bout. Louis sout Pastor'down four tunes in. the first round and once in the Second. The game New York boxer not only Remained bn his feet in the _ third, but won the fourth with a jabbing attack. A eerie# of rights that shook the negro reddened his face. The men fotight bn even terms in the fifth round. _ . A stunning fright on which the champion concentrated had Pastor groggy in the sixth, but he managed to keep on his feet. , , Pastor lost the round after a succession of rights which opened a gash over his left eye. . He made a magnificent stand in the eighth, when he swarmed over Louis and belted him on the ropes with a barrage of lefts and rights to his swollen face. . . Ho tried to finish the champion in tho ninth, but Louis rallied and fought on everi terms. A short right cross to the ohm in the tenth nearly knocked Pastor over the ropes. This blow won the fight. Although Pastor did hot drop, all the spring went from his legs and the fire from his eyes. Another right to the jaw in the eleventh sent him on his hands and knees, where he took the count, blood pouring from his mouth, nose, and left eye. He had made one of the gamest stands ever witnessed. Conceding 171 b, he lasted 10 rounds 38 seconds, and seriously threatened the champion in the eighth round. The attendance was 40,000, and the gate 400,000 dollars.
