ST. CLAIR WOMEN'S CLUB

The St. Clair Women’s Club mot on Monday evening last, when Mrs E. 11. Omblcr presided over a very large attendance. Airs Wakefield Holmes and party supplied a programme of Shakespearian items, which opened with a short talk by Airs Holmes on Shakespeare and his knowledge of flowers and the superstitions attached to them, also his knowledge of botany and his art in painting in glowing colours the beauties of flowers and trees. This was illustrated by two songs—’ When Daisies Pied,’ sung by Airs Black, and ‘ Where the Bee Bucks,’ sung by Airs Eocken. Next, a scene from 1 Richard 11. was read by Alesdames Holmes. E. Anderson, Eocken, and Alisa APDougall ; a scene from ‘ A Winter’s

Tale,’ by Alesdames Holmes and Focken; and a part song, ‘ Hark, Hark, the Lark,’ was sung by Alesdames Holmes, Roberts, White, Focken, and Blabk. Mrs Peter Dick acted as accompanist. Each item on this delightful programme was received with enthusiastic applause. Airs Gibson cordially thanked Alls Holmes and party on behalf of club members.
