SALVAGE OF THETIS

SATISFACTORY PROGRESS MADE (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, September 9. A further stage in the salvage o( the Thetis wreck was reached to-day,; when satisfactory progress was made with the work preparatory to the use of compressed air with a view to floating the submarine. Pumping operations are expected to begin in the course of the next week. Two bodies have been recovered during the operations in the last few days,; which involved the removal of hatches. FURTHER BODIES RECOVERED (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, September 9. _ During further work on the Theti* wreck at the ebb tide to-day eight more bodies were recovered from th» engine room by divers. INQUEST PROCEEDINGS LONDON, September 10. (Received September 11, at 10.30 a.m.)' Sixteen more bodies have been recovered, including some civilians. An. inquest will be held at Holyhead on September 11.
