FAIR AT FIRST MIN DEVELOPING PNG* WEST The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the south* eru district—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapauui, Winton, Invercargill, River* ton, Orepuki, Halfmoon Bay:— An. anti-cyclone is centred to the north-east of New Zealand,and a vigorous depression is approaching from the Tasman Sea. Forecast; Moderate to strong north-westerly to northerly winds, probably changing to southerly to-morrow. Weather fair at first in the east, but becoming unsettled later and rain developing from the west. Temperatures cooler again to-morrow. Seas rough in the west, slight to moderate in the east.
