ALLAHABAD, October 8. (Received October 9, at 1.30 a.m.) Miss Batten arrived a day ahead of Broadbent’s record. If she reaches Rangoon on schedule she will have two clear days to complete the remaining 2,500 miles and gain the record. Miss Batten later loft for Akyab. SHORT REST AT AKYAB AKYAB, Octber 8. (Received October 9, at 10.5 a.m.) Miss Jean Batten arrived at 6.10 p.m., local time. She is resting for the night and is resuming at 3.30 a.m. tomorrow.
