NEW STAR

FOUND IN SAGITTARIUS [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, October 9. A cable received from Melbourne by the Dominion Observatory, the original source of the message being the International Astronomical Union, Copenhagen, gives details of the discovery on October 6, of a new star in the constellation Sagittarius, and at present of sixth magnitude, about the limit of the naked eye visibility. The position at 0 Greenwich Mean Time is given as right ascension 18 hours 4.5 minutes ; declination 34deg., 21min south.

Whether it is getting brighter or fainter is not known yet. Cloudy skies last evening prevented any observation locally.
