DANGEROUS GIRL
HALF-CASTE NEGRESS'S THEFTS TAKES SENTENCE WITH SCREAMS # [Pek United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, October 1. Carried screaming from the dock in the Police Court, Marcia Teresa Nilsson, a half-caste domestic, aged 21, was sentenced to two years’ reformative detention on one of two charges of theft. She was charged with the theft of a fur coat, a bridge coat, and a costume frock, of a total value of £3O, from the dwelling of Maysie Myers at Milford, and also the theft of a suit length valued at £1 10s, the property of Robinson Bros. She pleaded .guilty to the first charge and not guilty to the second.
The police said accused worked next door to Mrs Myers. The home of the latter was burnt down while she was at the races on December 2 last. On September 2 last Mrs Myers saw the accused wearing her fur coat in Queen street.
Mr Meek, for Nilsson, said accused, a half-caste negress, had not been_ living with her parents for some time. She was unfortunate in the company she had been keeping. Mr Hunt said Nilsson had been sent to the Borstal because of a very clever theft committed at Gialmrne. Probation was out of the question. She was a dangerous girl and would have to be kept under control.
