DAFFODIL DAY TO-MORROW

PLUNKET SOCIETY'S APPEAL “ Keep the well baby well ” is surely an appeal which will find a ready response from Dunedin citizens, and, therefore, Daffodil Day to-morrow shoud result in the local branch of the Plunket Society netting a substantial sum from collections in the street. In order that the society can continue to provide a free nursing service to mothers a considerable sum of money is required each year, the society having to rely on its annual collection day in the streets and public subscriptions. Money is required to carry on the work at the Truby KingHarris Hospital at Anderson’s Bay, where educational services are available to nurses operating throughout the Otago province. The hospital at Anderson’s Bay was the first Dominion training centre to be established, but the society is now able to report that similar institutions exist in fiye other centres as well. No one will deny that the work of the society in caring for the health of mothers as well as children is an admirable one and a most valuable social asset.
