NEW ZEALANDERS IN AUSTRALIA BIG GATHERING IN SYDNEY Trim Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, September 28. Dominion Day was celebrated in Sydney to-day at the New Zealand Government offices. The Trade and Touriii Commissioner, Mr W. - Taylor, entertained a large gathering, including Dr Earle Page ; Mr W. M. Hughes, and other Ministers representing the Federal Government, the Acting Premier (Mr M. F, Bruxner), and Messrs H. P. Fitzsimons and J. Ryan, representing the New South Wales Government, representatives of consular bodies, and many other organisations, and Mr R. B. Bennett, Leader of the Opposition in Canada. Former New Zealanders present included Mr H. EL Sterling, former chairman of the Government Railway Board, and E. D. Patterson, president of the New South Wales branch of‘the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association.
A Dominion ball will be held by the New Zealand Women’s Association and the New South Wales branch of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association to-night, 'The first Dominion Day church service was held at Columba’s Presbyterian Church yesterday, and was presided oyer by the Rev. W, Kinmont. Portions of Scripture were read by Mr Taylor and Mr P. Tite, president of the New Zealand Social Committee. New Zealand Associations in other States also celebrated Dominion Day. The New Zealand farmers attended the Adelaide function. A New Zealand Association in Perth has just been formed, with Mr Claude Swaine as president.
