He ‘ Manchester Guardian’s ’ Shanghai correspondent says the Japanese Ambassador presented the Chinese Government with a series of demands, the most important of which are, first, autonomy for the five northern provinces; secondy, economic; cooperation; thirdly, the right to station troops at various, points along the Yangtse; fourthly, the right to supervise Chinese schools in order to eradicate anti-Japanese propaganda. It is understood that the Chinese have intimated that the proposals are not acceptable.
