COOL AND CHANGEABLE The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the souths ern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton. Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:—. An anti-cyclone passed eastwards yesterday, and a depression is crossing the Dominion to-day. Pressure is again rising over the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Moderate southerly winds, freshening somewhat. Weather cool and changeable, with scattered showers, but improving shortly. Seas moderate to rather rough. " FINE, BUT OVERCAST. After the rainfall on Friday afternoon, Saturday was fine and sunny,* with a light southerly breeze. On Sunday, bright sunshine and an absence of wind gave rise to warm temperatures, and to-day broke fine but overcast, with a tendency to, cool temperatures. On Saturday evening there was on© degree of frost, and no rain fell over the week-end. A light south-westerly wind prevailed this morning. Temperatures on Saturday and Sunday were 56 and 65deg, maximum respectively, with. 39 and 45deg. the corresponding minima, over a period of 24 hours. Until noon to-day the registrations were 53 and 51dez. The barometer at this time indicated a steady pressure of 29.8 in, the afternoon promising to be cool but fine.
