LONDON NAVAL TREATY
DISCUSSIONS WITH SCANDINAVIA A CORDIAL FEELING (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY,' September 17. (Received September 18, at 1 p.m.) The third meeting of the Scandinavian countries and the United Kingdom Government in connection with the London Naval Treaty was held in the Foreign Office. Full explanations on all points have now been given, and the naval experts will be able to return to their respective countries with the necessary information to permit their Governments to decide on their attitude to the treaty. Good progress has been made, and it is expected that further discussions will take place in the near future. It is understood that there are still outstanding technical questions to be settled, but it is hoped that these will soon be overcome. There is every evidence of the utmost readiness on the part of the Scandinavian countries to assist in every way in order to obtain a satisfactory settlement. The British Government is awaiting a reply from Germany in connection with the earlier naval conversations with -, the German representatives, and it is hoped that the discussions between the two countries will be resumed very shortly.
