Y.W.C.A. BOARD

Miss Frances Ross presided over a well-attended meeting of the board of directors, apologies being received- from Mesdames Batting and Wilkinson and Miss' Begg. Members stood in silence in sympathy with Mrs Wilkinson in her bereavement, and appreciation was expressed in regard to the devoted support and assistance that the late Mr Wilkinson had given the association over such a long period of years. Mrs J. Malcolm then led the board in a study on worship and its relation to the work of the association. _ A report was given outlining the suggestions made at the meeting of the Women’s Centennial Council. Matters in connection with the forthcoming meeting of the National Board of the Y.W.C.A. were discussed, and Mesdames C. M. Begg and P. L. Ritchie and Miss Ross and the general secretary were appointed as delegates. It was reported that Miss Forsyth had consented to act as hostel matron during Miss Rosevear’s absence on leave in- 1937. Departmental reports indicated that all departments were working in full swing, the winter sports drawing to a close and arrangements being made for summer activities. The programme for the annual meeting, to be held next Monday night, was reported on, and all members urged to be present. , World news included correspondence from Miss Yuki San, a Japanese secretary at present pursuing studies in religious education in America; from Miss May Bentham, who, has been in Geneva and has just commenced work as general secretary in the Y.W.C.A., Hull, England; and from Miss Nessie Moncrieff, who is now returning to China, but is delegate first to the regional conference in Ceylon.
