PENSIONS FOR BLIND
NEW PROPOSALS IN BRITAIN (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, September 11. (Received September 12, at noon) The Minister of Health has announced that he will propose in the new session of Parliament that old age pensions should be given to blind persons at 40 years of age. There are 70,500 registered blind persons in the United Kingdom, of whom 25,000 receive the old age pension, which, on account of their affliction, at present begins at 50 years of ago.
