COMMUNITY SINGING
To-morrow’s sing should be another bright affair. Mr J. F. Himburg (secretary) has received a wire from the manager of the Australian Rugby team that they had accepted the invitation to be present. This team is known as the “ Warbling • Wallabies.” .The New Zealand Rugby team has also been invited, and in all probability will be present. The sing will be held in the Strand Theatre (by courtesy of Messrs Fuller-Hayward), at the usual hour, 12.15. Mr H. P. Desmoulins (the leader) is arranging another programme of new and popular numbers. Mr Alt'. Pettitt' will be at the piano. The committee appreciates the response from listeners-in, which shows the leader and others are doing good work. The third £IOO is in sight, and it is hoped to hand the amount over to the mayor next week. Mrs M'lntyre, who is in charge of the stall, would be pleased to receive-flow-ers, as they always have* a ready sale. Donations can be sent to Begg’s or the Strand Theatre. The proceeds are for the mayor’s relief of distress fund.
