The population of Turkey is rapidly increasjng. According to the Turkish Embassy the growth is at the rate of about 200,000 a year, but the census gives a higher figure. In Europe there are 1,100,000 Turks, in Asia 15,100,000; a total of 16,200,000. At the census of 1927 the total was 13,600,000.
