CHORAL SOCIETY'S CONCERT
MADAME MURIEL BRUNSKILL TO ASSIST Next Saturday night for the first time in New Zealand Madame Brunskill will sing with a full orchestra.' The orchestra, which has been specially engaged for the occasion, will be under the baton of Mr Alfred Walmsley. Included in the programme will be the famous song cycle ‘ Sea Pictures,’ by Elgar. This will be the first complete performance of this famous cycle to be presented in New Zealand, and the soloist will be Madame Muriel Bfunskill’s voice—a Stradivarius larynx . . . ■Madame Brunskill shows a musical understanding far surpassing that of most singers. Commenting .on a concert a Chicago critic said: “Muriel Brunskill’s voice—a Stradibarius larynx it runs all the way from the faintest caress of a tone to a jubilant peal, yet with never a strident note in it.” The box plan will be opened at Begg’s on Wednesday for the concert on Saturday. ___
