MANY LIVES LOST
WARSHIPS IN PATH OF TYPHOON Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright TOKIO, September 27. During the manoeuvres a fierce typhoon caused a collision between four destroyers and an aircraft carrier. One sailor was killed, 10 injured, and 62 swept overboard. It is believed that all were drowned. MUCH DAMAGE ASHORE 230 PEOPLE KILLED. TOKIO, September 27. (Received September 28, at 10 a.m.) A Government communique states that 230 people were killed in the typhoon and 195 are missing in addition to the 54 sailors already cabled. Altogether 75,974 houses and 191 bridges were destroyed.
