Rain, generally light, but in some few places heavy, fell in all parts of England to-day. Although it was thoroughly welcome to most people after weeks of drought it diminished tho fashionable delights of Ascot, where their Majesties drove to tho course in a closed car instead of in the customary open landau, and it interfered with cricket, holding up most of the county matches. . '
