(Received June 22, at 1.30 p.m.) The Premier-elect (Mr Mitchell Hep* burn) backed his election campaign economy promises with a declaration that the post of lieutenantgovernor would bo abolished, the Chief Justice assuming the duties. Twenty-three commissions, many of which were ' composed of “ experts,” would have to go. “We are going to do away with pomp and ceremony to save the taxpayer’s money,” he said.
