RESERVES DEPARTMENT Group 369 is to report for work at 8 a.m. to-morrow at the Mornington football ground. FORM U.B. 32A Members of the following groups must obtain form U.B. 32a from the Employment Bureau, and after completion return it personally by the date specified. Each man must produce'his levy book with the completed form. Any man who fails to return the form by the specified date will be deleted from his group, and will not be restarted until he has been regrouped by the Employment Bureau. To, be returned by Saturday, June 33:—Groups 105-116, 226-236, 283-295, 339-346, 382-388, 403, 406-416, 511-516, 704, 710, 2,000-2,002, 2,500-2,502, 3,000-3,005, 3,500-3,503, 4,000-4,003, depot _ specials, gardening specials, waterside workers. To be returned by Saturday, June 30, 1934:—A1l single men, north Taieri camp men, Whare Flat camp men, sustenance, all others' on groups not previously advised.
B CLASS MEN [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, June 18. Fears that the proposed sustenance payments to B class relief workers would impose a hardship were expressed at a meeting of the Citizens’ Unemployment Relief Committee. It was decided to write to the Unemployment Board requesting a clear statement regarding the scale on which it was proposed to place B class men. A member said that as he understood the now proposal all B class men would suffer a reduction in weekly payments. Another member said ho would like to see the men getting an allowance instead of a milk ration. Some he knew would prefer a beer ration.
CONCERT AT ST. KILDA The programme arranged by Mr Ernest Drake for the concert in the Coronation Hall, St. Hilda, last evening, was of a high standard. Wellknown artists contributed. Tho audience was appreciative of the quality of the fare provided,, and applauded heartily. The programme was as follows:—Mr Gordon Proudfoot (vocal items), Master Ray M'Nicholl (boy soprano), Miss Erana Newbold (elocutionary items), Miss Lettie De Clifford and Mr A. Jeavons (vocal duets). Miss Dorothy Sligo (vocal solos), Miss Eva Judd (violin solos), Mr Mason Harrould (solos), Miss Angela Hendry (solos), Mr Aubrey Clarke (solos). Mr W. R. Sellars was the chairman. He thanked Mr Drake and his company for their splendid entertainment. He also thanked Mrs Drake, the accompanist. He announced another fine entertainment for next Sunday by Miss Alma Pinnerty and her pupils. There would bo choice items, vocal solos, and elocution, and assisting artists would be Des. Neilson and his Banjo Quartette, Jack Broom (in humorous items), and Mr Clem Jones and partner (harmonica duet). The proceeds were in aid of tho mayor’s relief depot, St. Hilda. Thanks were also due to Mr Owen M'Connachie and Mr Reg. Griffiths, who entertained the audience before the programme commenced by playing records through the announcing system.
