LATE SPORTING
WRESTLING MEYER BEATS CHEUNG [Per Uxited Press Association.] NAPIER, Juno 16. Dr Freddie Meyer (America) defeated Wong Buck Cheung (China) in a professional contest last night, following a series of headlocks in the seventh round. Meyer lifted his opponent in an aeroplane spin and dumped him to secure an easy fall. The Chinese was rendered unconscious and was unable to continue. The bout was one of the cleverest witnessed in Napier for some time. Open Hurdles. Signalman, Silver Tom, Helpn Gold, Whistling Wind, Erin’s Flight, Happy Hours. Owing to insufficient entries the Improvers, Light-weight, and Miniature Handicaps have been abandoned.
