LABOUR POLICY
ADDRESS BY MR SEMPLE [Pee United Press Association.] WESTPORT, June 13. Mr R. Semple, M.P. for Wellington East, explained the Labour Party’s policy to a large audience at Westport, presided over by the mayor this evening. Ho dealt with contract and credit, and also other phases of currency. Mr Semple said there could be no near relief given to the farmer or any other part of the community unless and until currency was controlled by the people and for the people, and not by a handful of individuals with no legal right to gamble with matters which represented the life blood of industry and commerce. A motion was carried expressing alarm at the attitude of the Government in prolonging the life of Parliament longer than the three years for which it was elected, and asking for a dissolution at the end of tho year.
