FOUR CHARGES ADMITTED
TWO MOTOR CYCLES CONVERTED YOUTHS PLEAD GUILTY TO THEFTS Two charges of conversion of motor cycles and two charges of theft were admitted by Noel Ivan Murdock and Robert Smith Palmer when they appeared in the Police Court to-day before Mr J. R. .Bartholomew, S.M. They pleaded guilty to on May 28 converting to their own use an Ariel motor cycle, valued at £SO, the property of John St. Clair Cunningham; on May 29, at Dunedin, converting to their own use an A.J.S. motor cycle, valued at £3O, the property of David Henry; on April 3, at Christchurch, the theft of a canvas tent, valued at £1 12s 6d, the property of Robert Smith; on April 9, at Christchurch, the theft of a Winchester repeating rifle, valued at £3, the property of William Clarkson. Mr J. G. Warrington asked for d remand till Monday, as he had been instructed only this morning, and Mr A. C. Hanlon, K.C., would be appearing for accused when they were sentenced. Chief-detective Young said His Worship could probably take the ease next Wednesday. He might remember that one of the accused had twice appeared before him in the Children’s Court. A remand till Wednesday was granted, the suppression of the names of accused being refused.
