MAGISTRATE’S COURT
THURSDAY, JUNE 14. (Before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.) DEFAULT CASES. ■ Judgment, with coats, was given for plaintiffs in the following undefended eases:—A. A. Campbell v. John Joseph Creighton (Aiteheson, near Oamaru), £2, account stated; John M‘Lean (Green Island) v. F. Peoples, £3 10s 4d, goods supplied; Provident Investments Ltd. v. Hillary F. Browne (Wellington), £22 7s Bd, , account stated. PLUMBER’S CLAIM. Peter R. Robb (Mr R. A. King) proceeded against Renia M'Farlaue (Mr 0. Stevens) on a claim to recover £46 2s JUd for goods supplied by plaintiff to defendant on February 26. Mr King said that the claim was for materials supplied on a renovating job done for defendant at her property in Forth street. The material had gone on to the job, and the evidence would go to show that defendant had employed plaintiff, the terms being day labour, plus the material. The job had not been completed on account of the defendant not being ready. Evidence was given in support of the claim, and as one of the plaintiff’s witnesses failed to put in an appearance the court adjourned to the afternoon.
