Thieves broke into St. Patrick’s Cathedral overnight and used a big golden crucifix to lever _ from the jewelled tabernacle doors adjoining the altars precious stones, including amethysts, rubies, and emeralds, as well as gold plate, causing Joss and damage amounting to thousands of pounds.
