DOGS AND CATS DESTROYED

S.P.G.A. WDRK [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, June 13. During the past eight months 65 dogs and 241 cats have been destroyed by the Wellington Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Nicol said that of the dogs destroyed, thirty-five had been injured, in motor accidents. The cats destroyed were mostly strays, or had been left in empty houses or flats. Over 2,000 dogs are registered in Wellington at 10s a head.
