DELAYED MAKURA
HELD UP BY COOKS AND STEWARDS (Pn United Prbs* Association.! WELLINGTON, June 12. The departure of the Makura for San Francisco has been further delayed owing to the refusal of the cooks and stewards to answer a call to man the ship. The Makura is now scheduled to leave on Thursday. A meeting of the Federated Cooks and Stewards’ Union, attended by about 400, was held this_ afternoon, but after a three hours’ discussion _no decision was reached, and the meeting was adjourned till to-morrow.
