■—Ministerial.— Tho Hon. AV. B. Taverner, Alinistcr of Railways, went from Dunedin to Lyttelton "by the 11.-14 train to-day, and will cross tho Strait to-night. He proposes to return to Dunedin about the loth and stay hero a month. Air G. A. Lamb came to Dunedin for Easter, and left for Wellington this morning. His Honour Air Justice Adams will arrive here from the north on Saturday, April 13. Mr and Airs Exlor left Dunedin this morning on the return trip to England. At the station they were given a hearty send-off by relatives and friends, as well as by members of the Dunedin Horticultural Society. Air J. L. Murphy, who has been supervisor of the parcels branch .in the Dunedin Post Office for the last tour years, has received notice of his promotion to the position of senior supervisor of the parcels branch in liv vercargill. On the occasion of severing his connection with the Waitaki Dairy Coinpay, Ltd., Air F. W. Pile was farewelled by the management and stall, and presented with a solid silver tea service and a silver cigarette ease. Air S. Bowman, in making the presentation, referred to tho seventeen years ol faithful service rendered by Mr Pile, and wished him every success in hi.-, new sphere of lile. Air F. J. APDonnld, Air IL W. Hall, and others referred to the friendly relationship that had existed over a number of years. Old hoys of the Otago High School and many others will learn with great regret that Air J. G. Fullerton passed away at his home in Hurleyviile, Taranaki. last Sunday morning. Air Fnllarton was a pupil of tho Otago High School in 188(5 and 1887, and alter being engaged in primary school teaching in Southland for some years he joined the staff of the school in 1903. 'hut resigned in 1.913 to take up fruit farming in tho North Island. He gave up his orchard in 1926, and went back to teaching, being appointed head piaster of the Maxwell School, near Wanganui. Towards the end of 1927 ho became seriously ill, and in Alarrh, 1923, he resigned his position. -Shortly after that Airs Fullarton, who had been carrying on her husband’s school at Alaxwell, was appointed head of the •school at Hurleyviile, and she is still in charge there. The sympathy of all Air Fullart n’s and her own friends in Dunedin will he extended to her and her family in their bereavement. The latest guests at the Grand Hotel include Air and Airs E. C.
