AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIP The final scries of the Auckland Association’s championship was commenced on Saturday in fine weather. Old Boys on Saturday again won the Christchurch championship. West Christchurch required only 107 runs for a win on the first innings, and they had eight wickets in hand. The wicket, however, was exactly suitable for Merritt, having been softened by heavy rains during tho week, and the slowbowl cr routed the West Christchurch batsmen, getting rid of the side for 124 runs. Ho took nine wickets for 69 runs. Old Boys were anxious to give Merritt tho chance of getting his 100 wickets for the season, and as he required four more they went in again and knocked off 119 runs quickly and declared.
