MANCHESTER UNITY
The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Hand and Heart Lodge, M.U.1.0.U.E., was held in the M.U. Hall, Stuart street, on Tuesday evening, the N.G., Bro. Tait, presiding. It was decided to enter the initiation competition. The election of delegates to the animal district meeting resulted as fol-lows-—V.G. Bro. Jenkins, G.M. Bro. Boyce, P.P.G.M.s Bros. Hamel and Clark, and P.G.s Austin, Poyntz, jun., Ciimbcrbeach, Pithie, and Liddicoate, The order paper for the meeting was also dealt with. The meeting then adjourned for card games. Ladies' night has been set down for next lodge night. The visitors’ toast-was lespomled to by Loyal Centenary and Dunedin Lodges. The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal United Juvenile Lodge attracted a big attendance of members and visiting members, the N.G.. Brn. Holland, in the chair. The N.G. of Loyal Prince of Wales Lodge (Bro. Jack) was present, and extended an invitation to the first official visit to The Prince of Wales Juvenile Lodge on April 3, a number of members deciding to attend the function. Visitors from Loyal Cavershnm Juvenile Lodge were warmly welcomed. On© candidate was initiated, after which “Parents’ Evening" was hold. The programme was contributed to by members. Bro. F. Millicr, Miss Sligo (songs). Miss Crossley (piano solo), Bros. Huntley and Leekio (mouth organ), and Bros. Lucas and Henderson (recitations) entertained those present for an hour. The Loyal Dunedin Lodge met on Thursday evening in the M.U. Hall, the N.G.,_Bro. MTlougail, presiding over a fairly- good muster of members. The visitors included P.P.G.M. Bro. Stabb, representing tho district executive, and JAP.G.M. Bro. Lawry, who were warmly welcomed. The order paper for the district was discussed, the delegates being given a free hand at the meeting. One proposition for membership was received. The toast of visiting brethren was responded to by a representative ol Loyal Mosgiol Lodge, Bro. Stabb acknowledging the toast of tho executive. P.G.s MlColl and Alexander referred appreciatively to the great services to the Otago district rendered by P.P.G.M. Bro. Stabb, who had now completed his term of executive office. Tho lodge was adjourned early to carry out tho programme arranged for the evening—namely-, a “ Question Box.' Many instructive and interesting subjects relating to the order were discussed.
