ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
f — : GIRL’S SUDDEN DEATH. Margaret Queenic Wright, aged liltecn years, died suddenly at Mosgiel at about 9 o’clock last evening. An inquest was held this afternoon. BODY FOUND AT MACANDREW BAY. At about 8.30 this morning, the police received word that a body was seen floating in the harbour in the vicinity of- Macandrew Bay. Later it came in and was washed up ou rocks. Constable Meiklcjohn, who went down to investigate, removed it to the morgue. The constable reported that the body was very much decomposed and appeared to have been in the water for some weeks. Apparently it was that of a man about forty-five years of age. The deceased was sft Gin in height, and had been wearing _ dark grey clothing, a heavy woollen singlet, a black and red jersey, grey woollen socks, and white canvas shoes. Among the articles found upon him were a white pocket handkerchief, a round tin of tobacco, a small white comb, and a carpenter’s pencil, while pinned to his coat was a badge of the Fourth Otago Regiment. Efforts are being made to identify him.
