HER EIGHTIETH BIRTHDAY WORLD-WIDE CONGRATULATIONS Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, February 28. (Received February 29, at 9.20 a.m.) World-wide congratulations were received by Dame Ellen Terry, including a telegram from their Majesties. Dame Terry was inundated with letters, sonnets, poems, and telegrams, tho latter being numerous. Her telephone was engaged all day. Her post bag contained offers ot a patent medicine cure for bronchitis and old-fashioned prescriptions for colds. Groat bunches of flowers arrived continuously. A special programme, largely played by the Terry family, was broadcasted, featuring the principal successes of her career. Birthday greetings were spoken. Damo Terry’s broadcast reply to tho greetings said: “ The tribute to mo is a tribute to Shakespeare, and so to England, for is lie not the chief glory of England F”
